New memoir, new disclosures

His memoir Swan Song: Diana, My Sister (released Sept. 22) revisits their childhood, family tensions, her marriage, divorce and death. It includes accounts of a heated exchange with the future King over the boys in the funeral procession and recollections of Charles’ reaction after Diana’s death; Buckingham Palace offered a statement noting how grief can affect memory.

Keeping her close

Nearly three decades on, Spencer says Diana’s memory comforts him. He still wears cuff links she gave him and even shared that detail with grieving relatives after a cousin’s recent death, saying her memory continues to give comfort to others.
